My Goals and Theme for the Year

by

Last I kind of blew it.
I had the intentions to post my goals on the Paper Napkin Wisdom Blog – at least I had them written down. All I had to do is go live with them. I did it in January of 2014, and was committed to doing them again.
A funny thing happened at that moment, though. I stopped because I wasn’t really fond of how I’d written down a couple of the items. They sounded incomplete and imperfect as goals. I had set a high bar previously, and wanted to take it up a notch and I didn’t feel like this was cutting it.
So I waited and recrafted them. I went back to the drawing board and reworked the goals. By the time I got it right it was February and it felt “bad” to get them up a month into the year. So I didn’t … I wasn’t committed to making it happen so I didn’t. Well the year went by (and it was a good one) but I didn’t get the goals online – which made me feel very bad.
Not this time!
I’m not 100% happy with the lack of metrics on a number of these items, in some ways I’d like to take some more time and get them “right.” But – that would see me in the same trap as last year. So this year, I’m taking my own advice to “Make it bad, then make it better. Just make it!”
As with all things, we need to do the work, take the steps, or  produce a prototype before we can improve upon it. And if we use the law of compound effort, our success has a chance of getting bigger and bigger each year.
So, with that all in mind, I have released my 2016 Goals! By January 15th I’ll have the Personal Dashboard that provides weekly reporting around my goals on the www.PaperNapkinWisdom.com site as well.
I’d love to hear your plans, goals, and wishes for 2016. Let’s make it the #bestyearyet!
